Heating systems for carriers

The promise of shorter trading routes across the Arctic, potential fuel savings, and even reduced piracy risks are attractive to ship owners in the always competitive shipping markets. Bulk cargo carriers that are deployed in extreme climates do require heating systems for the accommodation areas. Our experienced engineers handle your bulk carrier project from design to engineering, project management and final handover to assure a heating system that meets all requirements.

Energy-saving heating technology

Rather than simply disposing of it, the cooling water from the diesel engines is used for heating by integrating a heat exchanger. This results in lower electric power consumption and savings of 5-150 kW on the generator output. The energy in the exhaust air can be re-used for pre-heating the fresh air coming in from outside by integrating e.g. heat recovery wheels in the air handling units.
