The preinsulated fittings consists of an inside body made of hot galv. steel plate provided with a 15 mm (0.6in.) layer of mineral wool, covered by a tough and tight sprayed-on coating which will withstand considerable mechanical stress without being ruptured. The insulation power corresponds to that of the pipes, and the vapour tightness is fully sufficient to prevent moisture from destroying the insulating power in the curse.
The Heinen and Hopman air pipe sytem, made exclusively of non-flammable materials will meet with the approval of all shiping authorities and classification societies.
The components of the Heinen and Hopman airpipe system are extremely easy to assemble. Two lengths of piping are assembled by means of a bushing which is pushed into the pipe ends. The joints are tightened by means of a special compound and wrapped with tape to ensure an air tight and durable connection. Like the bushings the bends, branches and other fittings are so designed that their ends can be pushed into the pipe ends, and joints are made airtight by means of compound and tape.
The pipe system is connected to the room units by means of a flexible hose. Connection to the central unit is affected by means of fittings, type C, which are fitted on the discharge section of the central unit.
